Let’s kick off Hops and Chops 2012!

Hey folks — we admit that Hops and Chops organization has been a little bit lax for the last few weeks (OK… months).  So, let’s kick off 2012 with a good week this week.  Would be great to catch up, and rumor has it that I’ll be buying at least 5 pitchers… 10 if Tony Wright or Todd Sawicki show up :-)

Holiday 2011 Hops & Chops — tomorrow (Thursday) night!
Same place (Auto Battery Bar, on Capitol Hill), starting at same time (6:30pm) as ever.
And, as a special bonus, I recently found two Hops & Chops t-shirts (size Large, sporting TeachStreet’s own JetPack Joe Sunga) — first folks to request them in-person, get ‘em!
See you soon… let’s toast Holiday 2011 in Hops & Chops style :-)
p.s. Oh, and if you’re going to be late, be sure to let us know via the TouchBase App (specially priced at $2.99 for Hops & Chops regulars…) — it’s groove-ilicious

Field Trip this week!

One of the core tenets behind Hops & Chops is “Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channel”, but every now and then an event conflicts with the schedule and, well, who are we to turn down free beer?

So, this Thursday, August 18th:

  • DO NOT pass GO.
  • DO NOT collect $200.
  • DO NOT show up at Auto Battery.

Instead, come join us in celebrating the growing success of our friends Estately and Nine By Blue at their new offices downtown

Entrepreneurs need to gather lots of feedback about their idea. 95% of the feedback is wrong. Great entrepreneurs succeed because they figure out which 95% of the feedback to throw out.

— Galen Ward, CEO/Founder of online real estate company Estately, in response to @JasonFreedman’s great blog post yesterday entitled “Don’t give bullshit advice”.

Go read Jason’s post if you haven’t already, as there is more to the message than the title, but I think Galen’s got it right. (via daryn)
